Dr. Hendrix is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in comprehensive eye care. His professional interests include cataract and refractive surgery, pediatric eye conditions such as amblyopia and strabismus, and geriatric ophthalmology.
Originally from Salt Lake City, he earned his bachelor’s degree in history, graduating cum laude from Brigham Young University. He completed medical school at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., followed by a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Missouri.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Hendrix enjoys spending time with his family, mountain biking, playing piano, and reading. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the Utah Ophthalmology Society and Utah Medical Association.
Dr. Slade is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma management, advanced cataract and intraocular lens surgery, and comprehensive eye care for all ages.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University, graduating summa cum laude. He went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Arizona, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Slade completed his ophthalmology residency at the Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah, followed by a fellowship in glaucoma and advanced cataract surgery.
Dr. Slade is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Glaucoma Society and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He has contributed to multiple ophthalmic journals and participated in humanitarian medical missions to El Salvador and Ghana. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family, restoring his Jeep, watching BYU sports, and soaking up the Southern Utah sun.


Dr. Behunin is a board-certified ophthalmologist and cornea specialist with advanced training in corneal transplantation, refractive surgery, and complex cataract procedures. His expertise includes partial and full-thickness corneal transplants, ocular surface surgeries, and laser vision correction.
Born and raised in Clawson, Utah, Dr. Behunin earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Utah. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Pennsylvania State University, followed by a fellowship in cornea and external disease at the University of Michigan’s Kellogg Eye Center.
Dr. Behunin is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the Cornea Society and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. His writing has been published in ophthalmic textbooks, medical journals, and industry publications. Outside of medicine, Dr. Behunin enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, watching movies, playing sports, and exploring the outdoors.
Dr. Reyes is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma management, cataract and refractive surgery, and advanced anterior segment procedures. His surgical expertise includes LASIK, PRK, implantable collamer lens (ICL) surgery, and complex cataract surgery.
He earned his medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas in San Antonio, where he served as Chief Resident and received multiple awards for excellence and integrity in patient care. Dr. Reyes then completed a glaucoma fellowship at the Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City. He later joined the faculty at the University of Missouri’s Mason Eye Clinic as an assistant professor, where he trained residents in clinical and surgical techniques for five years.
Originally from New York City and raised in Houston, Texas, Dr. Reyes earned his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University, where he met his wife, Raina. They are the parents of four children and enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and reading together.


Dr. Anderson is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in comprehensive eye care, cataract surgery, and oculoplastic procedures involving the eyelids and tear duct system. His surgical expertise includes advanced cataract techniques, eyelid repair, and correction of nasolacrimal duct conditions.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in neuroscience with a minor in business management from Brigham Young University, graduating magna cum laude. Dr. Anderson received his medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism Honor Societies. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Wake Forest University in North Carolina, serving as Chief Resident, and went on to complete a fellowship in oculoplastics at Wake Forest under Dr. Charles Rice.
Dr. Anderson is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He enjoys humanitarian work, including surgical trips to Honduras, and values time spent with his wife, Allie, and their four children. His interests include outdoor activities, sports, and cheering on BYU football.
Dr. Joshua Terry is an optometrist specializing in the treatment of ocular disease and the management of LASIK and cataract surgery patients. He has extensive experience working alongside ophthalmic surgeons and has focused his career on providing advanced medical eye care.
A graduate of the Southern California College of Optometry, Dr. Terry completed advanced clinical training at the Moran Eye Center, the Salt Lake City Veterans Hospital, and the Phoenix Indian Medical Center. Licensed in Utah, Nevada, and Arizona, he is a member of both the Utah Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
Originally from Richfield, Utah, Dr. Terry has practiced in St. George since 2010, where he resides with his wife, Jamie, and their six boys. He and his wife founded the nonprofit organization Kisses for Kycie in honor of their daughter, advocating for early detection and awareness of Type 1 Diabetes.


Originally from Vancouver, Washington, Dr. Brett Richardson has always had a passion for helping others see and live life more clearly. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry and went on to complete a residency in ocular disease at the Spokane VA Medical Center, where he gained advanced experience in managing complex eye conditions and delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
Since joining St. George Eye Center in 2025, Dr. Richardson has been dedicated to serving the Southern Utah community both in the clinic and beyond. He provides comprehensive eye care and ocular disease management, and he also extends his expertise to skilled nursing facilities throughout Washington County—helping ensure quality eye care reaches patients who need it most.
Dr. Richardson and his family have called St. George home since 2017, drawn by the area’s sunshine, red rock landscapes, and year-round outdoor adventures. Outside the office, he enjoys staying active, spending time with his wife and kids on the water, and coaching youth sports. Whether on the field or in the exam room, Dr. Richardson brings the same enthusiasm and care to helping others see—and live—their best.
Sherine Smith is a nationally certified Physician Assistant with an emphasis in ophthalmology. Her clinical interests include comprehensive eye care, management of glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and dry eye, as well as urgent eye conditions and post-surgical follow-up.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in zoology and human biology from Brigham Young University and her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Utah, graduating at the top of her class and receiving the Humanitarian Service Award. Before joining St. George Eye Center, Sherine practiced family medicine at a National Health Service clinic in Provo, Utah. Her background in family practice provides a unique understanding of how systemic conditions affect eye health.
Fluent in Spanish, Sherine has participated in humanitarian trips to Bolivia and Mexico to provide medical care and improve community health. She has lived in St. George since 2012 and enjoys exploring the local trails, wake surfing, reading, and photography. She is the proud mother of eight children and a member of the Utah Academy of Physician Assistants.
